Poutine, a dish to discover in the city of Montreal

The 5th edition of PutinFest took place from August 6 to 14, 2019 in the old port of Montreal. This year 100,000 people are expected to attend the event. Numerous activities are proposed such as music bands, outdoor games and of course poutine tasting. All students passing through Montreal should taste this local specialty.

Poutine, a dish to discover in the city of Montreal

This internationally renowned traditional dish contains Chips, cheese and the famous brown sauce. Long considered a caricature of Quebec society, the recipe has evolved considerably since 1950. It is now representative of regional cuisine around the world. This year again, the PoutineFest is organized around this Quebec symbol. Thus, it aims to promote local gastronomy.

Admission is free for students, families and anyone wishing to participate. The profits generated by the sale of the poutines go to local associations focused on youth and sports.

This festival is therefore the perfect opportunity for all gourmets in search of new flavours to come to the Old Port of Montreal. An event around a local emblem to live a unique experience thanks to Studyland canada.
